In This Issue of The Silmarillion
There’s buzz about what TV show could replace Game of Thrones on HBO. What could be epic enough to keep HBO viewers entertained? I think a TV show based on Tolkien’s Unfinished Tales and The Silmarillion has both the fan base and is legendary enough to be successful.
Skeptical? Consider the Silmarillion shorts: Sauron and Ar-Pharazon Web comic by artistic phenom Phobs. In ten panels, Phobs proves that the early years of Sauron on the Island of Numenor would be fun to watch. The political backstabbing, the swords, the rings, Luthien, Silmarills, Morgoth, the white trees, the sets from the Lord of the Rings movies… they are all there waiting for a producer brave enough to take the challenge.
The Comic's Themes
The tale of Sauron is one of ambition. Seeing him gazing across the sea knowing that it is only a matter of time before Sauron controls his captors is chilling.

Comic Art Review
When I look at the artwork for Sauron and Ar-Pharazon, I see flowing lines and beautiful vistas. The colors are always perfect for the medium. From the interiors of the castle to the expanse of the sea, Phobs has captured the grandure of Tolkien’s Middle Earth (or Numenor in this case). Phobs characters are easily identifable with strong expressions. The hand movements and acting are spot on perfect for the character involved.

I Need More Content like The Silmarillion
Once you’ve looked at the Simarillion artwork, move on to Phobs’ Khan series. The short Web comics featuring the interactions between the members of the family are fantastic.

There's not enough. I would like to see Phobs draw many scenes from the Silmarillion.
