We’re [ICON11] excited to announce that legendary singer-songwriters Aimee Mann and Ted Leo are coming to the ICON11 Main Stage where they will discuss album packaging and the process of turning an idea into art with Gail Marowitz, award-winning Creative Director at The Visual Strategist.
Aimee Mann began her career in the 1980s as the bassist and a vocalist for ’Til Tuesday. She released her debut solo album in 1993 and in 1999 recorded songs for the film Magnolia soundtrack. She has won two Grammy Awards and was named one of the world’s ten greatest living songwriters by NPR.
Ted Leo has been a fixture of the punk community for over thirty years, first with bands like Citizen’s Arrest and Chisel, and later with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. He is the frontman and lead guitarist of rock group Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and in 2013, he and Aimee Mann formed the indie rock duo the Both.
Gail Marowitz is a designer, creative director and founder of the NYC based studio, The Visual Strategist. Her work with Aimee Mann has garnered three Grammy nominations and one win for “Best Recording Package” and has been featured in the Design Annuals of Print, Graphis, and Communication Arts.You won’t want to miss this keynote!
